About Alex

Over the years I have met, communicated with, instructed and established deep and sincere professional relationships with a wide variety of diverse adolescent and adult learners. Those deeply marked my personal and professional life with so many, unforgettable relationships and amazing educational experiences.

Although I am currently and actively exploring different fields and career paths, I will always belong to Education. My ultimate goal and wishes for all my students has always been to grow as wise, informed and educated decision makers and critical thinkers regardless of the field or career path they are going to pursue.

While being a professional secondary Math and Science educator for 12 years, I am a current graduate student at West Chester University seeking a second Master’s - in the MS in Applied Statistics program. Along with this I have gained high proficiency using advanced statistical programming languages such as SAS, R and Python.

Along with various private tutoring experiences I worked as a professional math tutor at Delaware County Community College (Exton and Downingtown campuses) during spring’2014 which provided me with an excellent perspective on all offered introductory and mid-level mathematics courses in terms of curriculum, competencies, tasks and specific, common problems with mastering the content students experienced.

Over the last 11 years I have worked as both Middle and High School Grades Math (Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus) and Science (General Science, Chemistry and Physics – academics and honors classes) teacher in different public, charter and private schools.

I hold secondary teaching certifications in Mathematics 7-12 (plus Middle Grades Math), Chemistry 7-12 and Earth Science 7-12 in the state of Pennsylvania (plus "Earth and Space Science 7-12" in MD). All my clearances are up to date.

In all my earlier graduate studies, professional career and research (worked as staff geologist for two years after graduation) I explored, integrated and implemented various methods of mathematical modeling such as Matrix Algebra, Linear Geo-Statistics, Sequence and Vector Analysis in investigating and modelling natural phenomena and relationships.

Knowledge is Power, this is an undeniable truth. The joy of Learning, by itself is such a great Power too, that I would compare to precious gifts as Love, Friendship, Birth.
In moments of greatest despair, frustration and loss of faith in yourself, please recall another banal truth ... Knowledge is something NO ONE can take away from you! Never. You can give and share it, and you should, but it cannot be really stolen. And, yes, certainly, you could make some good profit of it (wink, wink) too ...
