Hello, my name is Adam. I am a self motivated, hardworking, and honest full time college student with plenty of life experience. Learning is my true passion and it is because of this that I love to tutor. I wish to share the knowledge and tools for success that I have learned during my time in the work place and school with other young students. I have worked in various industries and have learned quite a lot in the time that I have been a students. I have made it a life goal to learn as many things as possible about as many different subjects as I can and want to share this passion with those who are just beginning their educational journey
I would call myself a jack of many trades, and while I am not yet, I hope to be a master of at least a few of them. This has led me down quite a few interesting routes and eventually, to college. As a kid, I followed along in the footsteps of many of my relatives and studied art. I attended a Magnet School from grades 6-8 in which I studies art history and visual art techniques for 90 minutes every day. I truly enjoyed this time, but realized early on, that it would not be a profitable career. It now remains one of my many hobbies, along with music, karate, and yoga.
It was when I attended a technical high school that I began studying computer science, mainly computer programming. I learned a few basic languages before transferring to a standard high school when I moved to Pennsylvania. I enjoyed learning the basics of how computer programs work and how they can be manipulated to better serve the needs of those who will be using them. While I continued to study art and computer science in high school, I began to further broaden my educational horizon, as it were, by really focusing on other areas such as English and math. I excelled at both, taking AP English classes that focused primarily on writing, literary analysis, and expanding vocabulary. I found that I was a very proficient writer and a true fan of literature.
After high school, I decided that I would take a few years off before attending college. In order to earn a living, I worked as an apprentice for a small residential construction company. During this time I learned the basics of nearly every trade with the exception of electrical, plumbing and HVAC. I learned the steps that must be taken in order to properly erect a structure, waterproof it, and finish the inside with drywall and trim work. Needless to say, I was mainly working as a carpenter but I learned a good bit about the trade as a whole.
I later went to work for a commercial electrical company based in MD. During my time there, I learned the basics of electrical theory and, eventually, worked my way into a supervisory position in which I ran small crews ranging from 1-4 helpers. I did all this while beginning to take night classes full time (12 credits per semester). I did very well at this company and would still be working there today if my class schedule had allowed for it.
As a college student, at first while working full time and now volunteering in extra-curricular activities in my spare time, I have found that the college atmosphere is one that I absolutely love. As I said, I love to learn new things, and college has given me the avenue through which I can gain a broad range of knowledge. I have taken a large variety of classes including english composition (101 and 102), math classes (pre-algebra through calculus), psychology (101), philosophy (logic), english literature (201), chemistry (beginner through general inorganic), speech (101), computer information systems (105), power yoga, and many more.
I am currently an Engineering major and am hoping to transfer to Bucknell University in the fall of 2014. I have about 50 credits in college so far, and will receive my associates with well over the required amount. I will be studying organic chemistry, advanced calculus, and calculus based physics next semester. I have a pretty flexible schedule so I can work around student and parent schedules. Please feel free to e-mail me with further questions or to receive clarification of details! Hello, my name is Adam. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have been practicing yoga for over 4 years, independently and through local classes. I have experience in multiple styles including iyengar, vinyasa, and power yoga. I am currently taking a power yoga class at college and have a 100%.
