About Nia

I currently have a Bachelors Degree from Hunter College CUNY, with a major in Journalism, minor in English. I am also a professional published writer, with clips available through PR.com and Liquid Magazine. I am also an expert on grammar, editing and proofreading, and can help with writing assignments, reading and general English comprehension. I have also served as a Guest Teacher for the Neshaminy School District, and have taught grades K-12.

My tutoring approach would be to identify the student's weaknesses and come up with an approach to identify how they can be improved upon. I'm very patient and understanding, so it will be easy for the student to share with me how they want to become a better student and what areas they need the most work on. My strengths are English, Writing, Spelling and Grammar, and I strive to help every student become the best possible scholar in those areas as possible. I'm very passionate about tutoring and aspire to be the best possible help I can be.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
