I am an experienced teacher of psychology, successful writer, and creative professional artist. After a successful university teaching career, I now teach psychology as an adjunct at a local college, and I display and sell my artwork through a local gallery. I can also help you to succeed if you are having trouble understanding concepts. I teach others to understand and apply concepts so that they are prepared to advance to the next level of learning. I spend time with students getting to know them and building rapport to overcome anxiety that they may have associated with learning. I have found that often students have poor study habits. For many years I taught study skills to undergraduate and high school students and memory workshops to adults, consequently, part of my teaching includes tips on studying and remembering information.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. I have a degree in art education. I also am successful selling my art work, but more importantly, as a part of a community effort to introduce people to the fine arts, I participate in a yearly art studio tour where education is our mission. I chat individually with interested individuals about how to paint and draw. I have been so successful that some of the same people return year after year.
