Math is something that I struggled with as a child because it was never taught to me in an engaging light. I never had engaging activities or the confidence to push through. I want to be able to help students learn math and LOVE to learn math. I steer clear from the traditional "pencil/paper" routines of math. I think students learn best when they are doing, creating, and modeling. I find that manipulatives work best when learning the fundamentals of math.
I am certified in grades PreK-4. I did my student teaching experience in grades 2 & 4. I am also working towards my Master of Reading from Arkansas State University.
I LOVE science. Science is one of the most interesting topics you can learn about. There is so many outlets for opportunity in science. I think that hands on experiences are best when it comes to learning about science.
