I have 20 years of experience teaching middle and high school English, language arts, writing, and music in one of the highest performing school districts in the Philadelphia suburbs. I enjoy helping students to become critical readers and thinkers. I have developed effective strategies for helping students to discover their authentic voices as writers. I am also a conservatory-trained, professional musician. I provide instruction in guitar, bass (acoustic and electric), mandolin, music theory, and musical composition and arranging.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I taught public speaking classes to high school students when I taught at Strath Haven High School. As an educational consultant and staff development trainer, I have done extensive public speaking (and I have received very positive evaluations from participants/attendees). As a high school student, I was was a member of the public speaking (forensics) club and successfully competed in various public speaking events.
