In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a strong background in Photography. I took one semester of Photoshop as a college course and used my Photoshop experience in many other classes that followed. I have also used Photoshop while working at a family Portrait studio to edit photos for customers. I have been using Photoshop for myself for the last 5 years at least. I am knowledgeable in Photoshop CS5 and everything prior and skilled in working on a Mac or PC.
I have a TESOL certificate, allowing me to teach English to speakers of other languages
I initially went to college for photojournalism but after studying it for a year decided to transfer to another college and there I concentrated in cinema. I have taught many people how to use their cameras, whether it was a point and shoot or a DSLR. I currently have a Canon Rebel XSi and love shooting pictures with it.
I have three years of black and white darkroom photography, one year of Photoshop, and the last few years I have been combining photography skills and knowledge to shoot and edit videos on film cameras. I have been shooting senior photographs for friends the last few years. In a weekly photo contest at Point Park University, after winning the photo of the week. I won overall the photo of the year with the same photograph.
I would be happy to show you a portfolio of images if you are interested. I would teach on topics such as how to use all the buttons on your camera, aperture, shutter speed, lens, cropping, depth of field, lighting, color, black and white and can teach many concepts in photo editing as well as framing and printing photos.
