Hi! My name is Steven. I'm certified as an elementary school teacher (Early Childhood Education) and seeking my certification in teaching English as a second language. I also am soon to be a personal trainer. So basically, I spend my life motivating others and helping them to learn and grow. I have a lot of experience beyond that facilitating the growth and development of individuals, working as a camp counselor and founding and leading the chapter of my fraternity, Zeta Beta Tau. So if you want someone who will help your child find their best self, then I'm your man!
I love writing and reading as well! I read between two-three books a week and I write for my own fitness blog. So not only do I understand the importance of literacy, but I sincerely love it. And, you know what they say, passion breeds passion! Well, as I help your child, I'll be sure to leave a bit of my contagious passion for learning in general, if not literacy. Another fun fact: I speak pretty proficient Spanish, and understand the grammar rules well enough to assist in any beginners level coursework. I hope I can be there to help your child learn and grow, but if not, I hope you find someone who does!

I am in the middle of my second year as a professional educator. During this time period, I was lucky enough to teach at a charter school before it shut down. What was lucky about this was its emphasis on the common core, along with it's fluidity on how teachers could approach it. Along with that approach, I spent six months as a long-term substitute in a Norristown elementary school, teaching third grade, in particular preparing them for the common core aligned PSSAs. So from both an exploratory standpoint and a regulatory standpoint, I have been able to see the strategies and standards at work!
I am a certified elementary school teacher myself. That alone, should qualify me as an elementary tutor. Yet, I understand more should be present then just a piece of paper. Beyond that and my teaching experience of two years, I also live in a household of teachers. My father, who's home I live in, is also an elementary school teacher, and possesses a vast library of teaching books and resources which we share and I can use in tutoring sessions.
