I am currently a Middle School Literacy Coach. I coach teachers on providing effective reading and writing instruction. Prior to becoming a Literacy Coach, I was a reading specialist for 4th grade for three years. Before this, I was a 4th grade classroom teacher for three years. I am also a reading adjunct professor at a local community college. I have been in education for a total of 8 years.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-6), a Masters of Education degree in Reading (Reading Specialist Certified), and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently in a Doctoral Program at Wilkes University pursuing my Ed.D in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
