I have studied foreign languages at different points of my life. I began to study French and Hebrew at age 8. Latin followed in 8th grade. I added German and Russian in college. I studied Italian as an adult. Because of my own learning experiences, I am uniquely qualified to teach students of all ages.
I taught foreign languages in a classroom environment for four years after graduating from college. I sometimes found it hard to teach at the appropriate level for all the students because they had different abilities.. Tutoring an individual student is so much more rewarding because I can answer all the questions and tailor the lessons to his or her needs. I can share the joy of learning most effectively when I work with a student on an individual basis. I am looking forward to working with students of all ages to share my love of learning. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
