Math and computer science can be difficult topics for many students. I believe that students learn in different ways and a good tutor will try to find the way that makes the topic "click" for the student.
I also believe in practice and a positive attitude. We'll discuss what you need work on or want to review, then dive in together. I'll assign homework and assess your progress periodically.
I am available for tutoring 5:30PM - 8:30PM Mondays and Tuesdays as well as 9AM - 9PM two weekends per month. Please contact me and we can discuss your schedule. I can travel to you or we can meet at a local library. My base rate is $45/hour, and I offer discounts on packages of five sessions or more.
I have a lifelong love of math! I minored in math in college, passed the math PRAXIS test and now enjoy helping my third-grader with his assignments.
I have 15+ years of experience with Microsoft Access, Excel and SQL. I currently work full-time as a Database/Business Intelligence Developer. I love data and all things SQL-related. I've also held previous positions teaching Microsoft Access and Excel (preparing students for Microsoft Certifications) as well as teaching C++.
I'm happy to answer any questions that you have and look forward to working with you! Math and computer science can be difficult topics for many students. I believe that students learn in different ways and a good tutor will try to find the way that makes the topic "click" for the student.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken the Microsoft Certifications in Access for versions 2003, 2007 and 2010. I prepared students for these certifications when I was employed at Douglas Education Center from 2008-2012. I also developed two databases for the school's use to store information on courses and syllabi as well as students and scheduling. This involved designing and creating tables, queries, forms, reports and using VBA in the backend. I worked with Microsoft Access 2003 extensively during my time at Keystone Collections Group from 2012-2014 coding forms and reports and modifying and creating VBA.
