To whom it may concern:
I am 22 years old and just completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education. In the past four years, I have worked in local libraries and schools in tutoring programs. Along with this, I participated in a 2 month tutoring reading clinic that my school facilitated. I have been babysitting my little cousins during the summers, which has also given me a lot of experience! Lastly, I had 21 weeks of student teaching in regular education, emotional support, and a life skills classroom setting. In all, I feel well prepared and enthusiastic about my future career!
I am looking for a tutoring opportunity for this summer 2012. I feel that it will better prepare me in my professional development. I have been told on various occasions that I am able to develop appropriate rapport with students of any age and unique needs. I feel that this is my best quality I can provide for the tutoring setting. No matter what student I instruct, I will strive to develop a good relationship, so that success is more accessible. I also feel that I have been well trained in instruction and strategies. I have implemented several different techniques during my student teaching experience, and I strive to accommodate for each learner.
In closing, I feel that I could truly help particular needs of students this summer. I am an enthusiastic and positive leader, and I love to motivate and encourage student growth. Please consider me as a candidate for your student in need. To whom it may concern:

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
