I have a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis, and currently pursuing a master's at Carnegie Mellon. Through my academic experiences, I've taken courses in Calculus, Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Numerical Methods. I have significant tutoring experience in Math, ranging from elementary, all the way to the college-level. In high school, I was a math tutor at Kumon, where I had the opportunity to help out with courses such as Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. Being given this opportunity, it was amazing to guide students through problems. I was able to witness the satisfaction students would get from understanding the material and growing in confidence when it came to problem-solving. Because of these experiences, I continued tutoring when attending UC Davis. Throughout my time at undergrad, I tutored for Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Mechanical Engineering courses including Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Circuits, and Statics.
I enjoy working with students at all levels and believe that with confidence and the desire to learn, anybody can learn and acquire the skills to be proficient in Mathematics. My teaching style is to show example problems, and walk through each step to get to the final answer. A lot of the time, it just comes down to understanding the methodology of a problem, and once a student gets it, they can solve any problem that's being taught. That approach was a life-saver for me in college, watching visual demonstrations that broke down complex equations into a series of steps that were very easy to follow and grasp. I also encourage students to ask questions and be curious, the more involved students are, the more they can take from the lesson.
