Hello! I am a college graduate from Albright College. I graduated in May 2011 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a teaching certificate to teach mathematics in grades 7-12. While in college, I was part of the Academic Learning Center where I tutored college students in mathematics and sociology anywhere from basic courses to preparing for the Praxis exams. At school, I became a CRLA certified tutor through training and courses.
How I tutor depends on the student. I always want to learn the student's strengths and areas of weakness in order to provide the optimal chance to understand the information. Math can be a difficult subject for some people, and I want them to simply not be afraid to face it.
As part of receiving my teaching certificate, I completed a student teaching internship where I taught students in both middle school and high school as well as the urban, rural, and suburban setting. With this experience, I have a wide knowledge of different types of students.
I currently teach algebra 1 and remediation courses at a local school district in Monroe County. I have been working in this district for the past 3 years from a daily sub to long term sub to now as a permanent teacher. Hello! I am a college graduate from Albright College. Anna is pleasant and attentive, but most importantly, knows her stuff. My daughter is in high level math (for high school) and it would take forever for me to figure it out to try and teach her. It is such a blessing that we found Anna who is gifted in understanding and appropriately tutoring the subject.
Anna is assisting my daughter with Pre-Algebra. She was nervous about starting middle school and Anna made her feel at ease and will be a big help to my daughter in the coming months with Math.
My daughter is a high school student that has been working with Anna, once or twice a week, for almost a year. After struggling with math for the last few years, my daughter is finally starting to grasp concepts with Anna's help. My daughter feels comfortable with Anna's patience and instruction technique. Also, I recently started a new job, and Anna has been very flexible and dependable with the schedule change. I highly recommend Anna P.! We are fortunate to have found her through WyzAnt!
Anna P. is my daughters Math/Sat prep tutor, I cannot say enough positive things about Anna.
My daughter feels very comfortable with Anna. She has given my daughter excellent advice and one of the things I've noticed my daughter is more confident in her math class. Before the tutoring my daughter would come home so frustrated because she just could not understand the lessons. Anna takes her time to explain the math problems and
challenges my daughter to make sure she understands them. She goes over any upcoming quizzes with my daughter in detail.
Anna is on time and works with our schedule, she is very understanding and flexible. If you have any questions Anna gets back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you Wyzant, you make the whole process so easy. This is a great tutoring site I have not experienced any problem with the payment methods and customer service is very friendly and they assist you in anyway they can.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
