About Angie

I have 18 years teaching experience in the Special Education field. Trained in Verbal Behavior and ABA teaching strategies. I tutored for 5 summers working with students with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Developmental delays. I presented a study on the effects of Precision Teaching on students with Autism and Developmental Delays at the Penn State National Autism Conference. I also tutored a high school student in social skills.

My passion and commitment to all students stemmed from the birth of my son who has Down Syndrome. Not only have a been a strong advocate for students with disabilities but also a pioneer for inclusion in our home district. My commitment has not ended with my retirement from teaching but hopefully will take on another challenge.

I ended my teaching career in public education with 5 years experience as a learning support English Teacher. I worked hand in hand with various Regular Education teachers to implement strategies that enabled all students access to the curriculum. Through the use of various modifications and adaptations, both the regular education teachers and myself became more in tune with individual students needs. Part of my contribution to the High School English classes was to develop methods to increase students vocabulary.
