I've tutored students in mathematics on occasion in my undergraduate career. I was a classroom assistant for a precalculus course in which I also tutored students. From this experience, I've crafted a tutoring approach of learning by example. That is, I show how a similar problem or equation is solved, that way we can go through the steps together to see what areas need the most focus. The approach of "practice makes perfect" is also a tactic I'll use. I recently tutored someone in college...

I recently tutored someone in college algebra and when they completed their assessment, they got a 92%.

I graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a 3.24 GPA on a 4.0 point scale. I am very willing to tutor students in math ranging from algebra to areas of calculus. I enjoy working with students to unlock the potential that they have in understanding the subject. I want to make the math come alive and show why it matters for the student to learn it or at the very least show why I'm passionate about the subject.

One of my math professors gave me some great advice when I was struggling in my college level math class. This advice is the basis of why I will not give up until my pupil has a great understanding of the material. She told me to "use that feeling that you had of struggling with this math when you are instructing other students. By doing that you'll know how they feel trying to understand the math that is difficult to them and you will be a very effective teacher, tutor, or professor."

I'll never forget that when I make a difference in the lives of the students I tutor.

I am very skilled at Algebra 1 and 2, Precalculus (trigonometry), Prealgebra, some areas of proof writing, calculus 1 and 2, some areas of discrete mathematics, complex analysis, and geometry.

I don't see it as a I talk and you listen type of lesson. I see it as a lesson where we learn together. I'll learn from you, the student, how you learn and what skills we need to brush up on to make the math make sense. You'll learn from me all that you need to be successful with whatever math lessons you need.
