R,

R

I have completed research projects using R as well as course projects. In my latest teaching assistant assignment, I was responsible for creating tutorials and working with students who had never learned R before. They were able to successfully complete a course assignment that involved importing data, generating plots and interpreting output. My goal is to provide support and learners develop the skills to implement new commands and packages as the need arises.
SAS,

SAS

As a student in Biostatistics, I used SAS for several courses to manipulate and analyze data. I am confident that I can help others develop the skills to become proficient in running standard statistical analyses, producing tables and researching syntax of new commands. I like working with students online, using a mix of screen sharing and developing quizzes to test competency in implementing SAS commands during tutoring sessions for statistical software.
STATA

STATA

I have worked with dozens of students as a teaching assistant to learn how to do statistical analysis using Stata. I have also used Stata for research and doctoral coursework in advanced statistics and econometrics. Based on my experiences, I am confident that I can help others learn the ropes of using Stata to successfully complete analyses.

Statistics

My coursework in college and graduate school has included over a dozen statistics courses including introductory statistics, linear regression, and data analytics. At UCLA, I was an award-winning Teaching Assistant for our Introductory Biostatistics sequence for 4 years. As a tutor, I am patient and able to pinpoint and clarify sources of confusion, then coach students to solve problems independently and with confidence.

Knowledgeable and Patient tutor

Asya is teaching Introductory Statistics. In the first lesson we reviewed the r.m.s. of regression correlations and correlations. She provided examples and discussed my areas of weakness and strengths. I have only had one lesson so far and felt more prepared for my exam.

Tutor responded:

Thanks for your kind words, Rochelle. You're putting in consistent effort to master topics in a concepts-heavy course and it shows! It was a pleasure to help you review before your midterm.

Stata and more....

Asya listened to my questions and because she has so much experience, she was able to make suggestions and give demonstrations of how to use STATA with refs on commands as well as how to trans data file to Tableau and then how to navigate this really neat and user friendly program that is ideal for data visualization-I had never even heard of it, but can't wait to start learning how to use Tableau as well-thanks so much!
