Antonelli School of Photography (Photography)
As a professional photographer, I have been capturing life through a lens for over 37 years. My lens has guided me on local and national journeys, photographing subjects for publications, annual reports and advertising. I tend to specialize in product and commercial photography, but also offer lifestyle portraits, wedding and event photography. One of my favorite types of photography is architectural and aerial photography.
I began teaching Digital Photography about 7 years ago, and my classes will take you from the beginning of using your DSLR to more advanced styles of photography. The sky is really the limit to what you would like to learn. Classes will cover a basic introduction to your DSLR to more advanced workshops such as fill flash, using filters, and mixing flash and ambient light. Students are simply amazed with what is learned in a two hour class.
Many of students request a more specific type of class, such as Wedding Photography, or Macro Photography. If that is the case, I can set up workshops and lessons to that specific subject, teaching not only the technique, but also which is the best equipment to use. In addition to the photography, many students need a helping hand with photo editing programs such as photoshop or light room. As I said, the sky is really the limit.
These are hands on workshops, as students learn as they go. If they are not clear on a subject, we work on it until they understand it. Don't be surprise if you have a written test at the end of the day. As a professional photographer, I have been capturing life through a lens for over 37 years. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a full time professional photographer since 1978, working in positions such as a photographer, senior photographer and director of photography. During this time, I have shot and produced images for all types of clients, both in the USA and out of the country. My images have appeared in national ads, magazine covers and annual reports.
Many of my images have been responsible for clients winning national awards for their products.
In addition to having been a full time professional photographer since 1978, I also have an associate's degree in the field of photography. As for teaching, I began teaching 5 years ago, and have also developed 3 collegiate courses for a local college on the east coast. Because of both my background and experience over the years, I feel that I have something to give back to the profession, such as teaching.
The courses that I teach are both a hands-on lesson, where students are shown how to complete a task, and then given the opportunity to complete the task on their own, and also through the use of PowerPoint programs, highlighting key elements to the subject, and then giving the students an opportunity to execute the task.
Many of the courses are taught on location, such as a fill flash photography course, where students will need to balance their light from their flash to the existing ambient light, or on a location where we are setting up to photograph wildlife.
Each course if different, but at the end of each course, the student will always be challenged, to ensure that they have learned the subject throughly.
I am an active member of the PPA, NPPA and CPS, and even as a senior, seasoned photographer, I continue to further my knowledge in photography through professional seminars.
Many of my students are so surprised to what they are able to learn in a 2 hour workshop, and seem to always comment on this.
