Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

I obtained my bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University in December 2010. I was a dual major in Elementary Education (Grades K through 6) and Special Education (Grades K-12). I have field experience and student teaching experience in all elementary grades and both pull-out Special Education and Inclusion within the general education setting.

I worked for three years as a Special Education Teacher in a high school setting (Grades 9 through 12).

I've worked with students diagnosed with ADHD, OHI, ODD, Emotional Disturbance, Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disabilities.

As I worked with these high school students, I helped them to complete job applications, resumes, cover letters, transition packets, career interest surveys, mock job and college interviews, and college applications.

I also escorted my students to college and career fairs one to two times per year, helped them with career powerpoints, and guided them as they explored college and career opportunities ahead of them.
