Hello, my name is Tyler L. I completed my undergrad from Kutztown University in Spanish language and literature. I have studied the Spanish language throughout my entire education, and decided to further my studies at the college level in pursuit of teacher certification. I am preparing to pursue a graduate program and look forward to any opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for language.
One of my many passions is also music. I continue to challenge myself to learn new styles and techniques in order to progress and grow as a musician and instructor.
During my course of study, I became familiar with Hispanic culture, modern and classic literature, linguistic application, rules for writing composition as well as practical conversation. During my undergrad, I was a peer tutor/conversation partner for Intro level courses to help students become comfortable with conversation in a relaxed environment. My approach is based on study of language structure, understanding the mechanics of grammar and practicing the application in conversation. I am familiar with most national dialects and can tailor any lessons to certain vocabulary/phrases to meet individual needs.
Being my first instrument, I have played drums for over 20 years. As a professional drummer I toured the country in national bands, as well as the pit orchestra for small theatre productions. I specialize in rock/alternative music, however I am versed in jazz, Latin and other genres of playing.
