They say the best way to immortalize yourself is to pass on what your know. I started photography at 14 years old learning black and white photography from my father. He stirred the passion that began a long career in Photography. As I approach the age of 59, I love to pass on the lifetime of experience to anyone who feels that same passion.
A little about my background:
My father bought me a twin lens reflex camera at 16. I did newspaper and yearbook through high school. I also studied graphic arts and printing at the Vo-Tech school back then. I worked summers saving for my first 35mm Canon and a few lenses. I worked for the University of Scranton in the Print shop after high school, but Photography was my passion. I graduated from the Art institute of Pittsburgh, second in my class with my photography degree.
My first two years post graduation I worked for two agency's as a Recording Engineer,Producer,Production Manager. I was hired at Westinghouse Electric as Senior Photographer for ten years.
In 1990 I left Westinghouse to start my business as a Commercial Photographer and studio. Over the last 26 plus years I have been all over the country including Canada working for fortune 500 clients and now focus on Weddings, portraits and School Photography.
Photography was my passion. I made it my career. I'd love to pass on my lifetime of experience to the next generation as my father did.
I am well versed in all formats including the old film cameras up to 8x10. All aspects of digital. One of the first photographers in Pittsburgh to go digital and helped Pioneer digital in Pittsburgh though seminars with ASMP. I am well versed in Studio and location lighting. Adobe photoshop, lightroom,Camera/computer calibration and color matching. Work Flow process. I have experience working with less and minimalist equipment. I have an extensive graphic arts, printing and design background.
I have a vast background of experience to pass on. One of the things I tell students when I do my talks at the schools and when I was a scoutmaster for the boy scouts. "Follow your Passion." If you enjoy what you do it will never be work.
Looking forward to hearing from you. They say the best way to immortalize yourself is to pass on what your know. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an Associates Degree in Photography and 36 years experience as a professional photographer and business owner.
