Mary Ellen covers each topic in depth and reviews key concepts that are crucial to the NCLEX. She is extremely knowledgeable and explains things in a way that not only make sense but are easy to understand. She is easy to talk to and any question you ask her is never a dumb question. If your looking for a great tutor, I would highly recommend her.

I have had three sessions with Mary Ellen G. and she is a fantastic woman who is great at explaining nursing concepts in a way that is easy for me to understand. She is able to explain things that I have learned in a classroom at a much simpler level for me and that is sometimes all I need to better understand the material. I mainly sought her out for question analysis and she has been very handy with getting me to better read the questions.
Mary Ellen is a great tutor. Being able to talk out the rationale of the NCLEX questions has been a great learning tool.
Mary Ellen is extremely knowledgeable and uses real world examples to explain how questions should be answered in the NCLEX hospital. She uses humor and knowledge to make you comfortable too. She has tons of experience and it is a privilege to work with her. I felt so lucky to have found her.

She showed me a different way to look at the NCLEX questions. After several sessions, she helped me to pass the test!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have developed and instructed students in an NCLEX preparation course at the school of nursing where I was a full time instructor. The course was developed with the eight categories of the NCLEX blueprint and focused on the proficiency material provided by the state board of nursing. The course progressed the student through NCLEX style questions and test taking skills to enhance item analysis and accuracy. The format for the test taking skills builder was developed utilizing analysis techniques specific to material in the question's stem and distractors along with elimination techniques to narrow the decision choices. The student data was then analyzed and a unique individual study plan was developed at the time of graduation for the student to follow for enhanced success on passing the NCLEX on the first attempt.
I have taught all aspects of fundamentals of nursing practice and medical surgical nursing. I also have a many years of clinical nursing experience and hands on patient care. I worked as a full time nursing instructor for seven years and did patient/family/staff teaching for many years prior to that.
I have developed and was the primary course instructor for a pharmacology course the was online with classroom enhancement. I have instructed students in pharmacology both in the classroom and on the clinical unit. In the practice setting, I enforced the interaction of medications, enhanced effects of certain medication classifications and the key adverse effects that would indicate a need to stop the medication. The pharmacology course that I taught, was conducted utilizing medication classifications and common usage of these classifications. I keep current of the new medications on the market and in trial through nursing and pharmacological publications and notifications.
