B.A. from Bryn Mawr College (Chemistry)
I graduated from Bryn Mawr College with an ACS certified Chemistry degree, and my love for Chemistry began back in high school where I enjoyed solving chemistry problems. In College, studying chemistry allowed me to master the material at the same time have a deeper understanding of its application in our society. In this tutoring role, I bring a year of experience working as a teacher assistant (TA) for General Chemistry at Bryn Mawr College.
At the beginning of each lesson, I start by covering the basics and providing a bigger picture of the topic. I then move on to discuss the content of the material, give examples and finally assign problems to help the student better understand the material.
My aim for every lesson is to ensure that the student enjoys the material and leaves having learnt and understood more.
I specialize in teaching General Chemistry to College students. In my teaching, I invest enough time to know the student to ensure that I can provide them with my best teaching possible.
I am very excited to share my passion and knowledge in Chemistry with all my students, and above all, help them improve their performance in school. I look forward to hearing from you. We really liked Naomi. Very knowledgeable and very personable. My daughters looking forward to the next lesson. Naomi really knows her chemistry and knows how to help my daughter also. It really was a great day and looking forward to many more great days together.
This feedback means a lot to me. Thank you.
Your daughter and I had a good study time, and I look forward to having more of these moments as we go along.
Excellent, professional and easy to understand. Was careful to ask if she was explaining material in a way that I could understand and let me try to do work first before jumping in to help.
Hannah, thank you very much for your kind remarks, I really appreciate it.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I majored in Chemistry at Bryn Mawr which allowed me to take a lot of Chemistry courses thus I am very knowledgeable about the course.
I was a teaching assistant for general Chemistry students in college; this opportunity gave me the experience to teach students.
