Temple University (Secondary Education and Spanish)
I love teaching and Spanish, which explains why I chose to study both at Temple University for years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education/ Spanish and am certified to teach Spanish in grades K-12 in Pennsylvania. I completed student teaching in a Philadelphia high school and loved working with the students. I also studied abroad in northern Spain for 5 months and lived with a local Spanish-speaking host family during that time. Currently, I am teaching English in Spain. These experiences have made me that much more passionate about the language and culture. A passion that I share with my students.
I believe addressing the needs of the learner should be at the forefront of any lesson and using Spanish to learn Spanish is essential. Learning about and putting education and language acquisition theories into practice throughout the last 4 years of college has prepared me to bring that into tutoring sessions.
I can't wait to help you learn the language that has stolen my heart.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
