Bio

I am currently living in in Fairfield, PA and working part time in a restaurant. I tutored math and science for a year (spring summer, and fall semesters, 2013) at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) while taking classes in Ornamental Horticulture. I plan to return to HACC this spring or summer for a class in genetics. I also tutored math and science at West Shore Community College in Scottville, MI where I was taking biology, math, physics, computer science, pottery, and photography...

I plan to return to HACC this spring or summer for a class in genetics. I also tutored math and science at West Shore Community College in Scottville, MI where I was taking biology, math, physics, computer science, pottery, and photography classes for my own personal interest. (I have a BS in geology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 1990.) I took Calc 3 and Differential Equations while I was at West Shore and tutored a group of advanced high school kids in Calc 1. I also tutored students with learning disabilities, as well as regular college students in math ranging from basic math to calculus along with some chemistry and biology.

Elementary Math,

Elementary Math

Elementary math is what I used to call Basic Math, and is concerned with things like multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting fractions, lowest common denominators, least common multiples, prime factors, proportions, percentages, some geometry-- all pre algebra stuff. I have tutored it along with Beginning Algebra mainly with college students, some of whom had learning disabilities, but I would also be interested in teaching it to younger students like elementary school kids.
