Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

At HACC (Harrisburg Area Community College) I tutored students in Basic Math, Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra, as well as calculus and some of the sciences during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters of 2013.

I have taken Biology I and II, Local Flora, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology I, and Lake Biology at West Shore Community College in Scottville, MI. I also took Anatomy & Physiology II, and Genetics (no lab) at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. Over the past few years I have enjoyed hiking and identifying trees and wildflowers in my spare time.

Elementary math is what I used to call Basic Math, and is concerned with things like multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting fractions, lowest common denominators, least common multiples, prime factors, proportions, percentages, some geometry-- all pre algebra stuff. I have tutored it along with Beginning Algebra mainly with college students, some of whom had learning disabilities, but I would also be interested in teaching it to younger students like elementary school kids.
