I am a recently retired middle school language arts teacher from the Millcreek Township School District. Although the last eleven years of my career were spent teaching at the seventh grade level, I also spent five years in Millcreek's alternative education program teaching English and social studies to middle school and high school students. Prior to my employment in MIllcreek, I also taught a pre-GED program to adult students at the Albion state prison.
During my tenure at Millcreek, I was also part of the after school tutoring program for several years. We utilized both age appropriate supplemental instructional materials, as well as a teacher supervised supplemental computer program. The objective of these materials was to improve reading and math skills for students who were performing at below grade levels. I also am very comfortable assisting students with homework assignments with the exception of higher level math and science.
