Mansfield University (Music Education)
Hello! I am currently a student at Mansfield University, studying Music Education. My primary instrument is clarinet, but I have taken strings methods classes, so I am proficient in up-right bass, cello, viola, and violin. I will be entering my third semester at Mansfield as a sophomore in August. I am currently a member of The Spirit and the Pride of PA Marching Band, performing on pit instruments, which includes marimba, chimes, xylophone, and vibraphone. I have previously been a member of the Mansfield University Concert Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, both on clarinet.
With clarinet being my primary instrument I am more able to teach a clarinet student rather than any other instrument. Trumpet is my secondary instrument. I played trumpet primarily in high school and methods clinics in my second semester at Mansfield. I previously took a strings methods class as part of my degree program, which was broken into 5 weeks for 4 instruments: up-right bass, cello, and violin and viola were joined into one section of 5 weeks. I am able to say I am proficient in each instrument. As part of my degree program, I also am required to take music theory, and I have completed 2 of the 4 sections; basic theory is something I am proficient with as well.
If you have any question regarding my current rates or about any of the instruments I am able to play, please contact me! Thank you so much! Hello! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
