I have the best job in the world! One that allows me to help students make their way in the adult world as a valuable member of their community. I have wanted to teach for as long as I can remember and can not imagine having any other career.
As a full time special needs teacher, I focus on teaching job skills and life skills to multiple disabled students. I am also a certified Elementary Education teacher which allows me to provide reinforcement in basic math, reading, and writing skills.
I have significant training in person centered approaches to learning. I focus on the individual's interests, goals and strengths, incorporating those ideals into their education and training. My students work at their own pace - often breaking assignments into smaller, more manageable, segments.
I am available for tutoring during school breaks as well as evenings and weekends during the school year. Please feel free to message me to find out how I can be of help to you. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I have the best job in the world! One that allows me to help students make their way in the adult world as a valuable member of their community. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certificated teacher with a Teacher of the Handicapped certification. I have a Masters of Education in Special Education degree. I also hold an Elementary Education teaching certificate and have worked full time as a special needs teacher at Delaware Valley Regional High school for the past 10 years.
