About Brian

Bio

Math and science have always been my passion. I knew from an early age that I wanted to become an engineer (admittedly, I wasn't sure what kind), but I quickly fell in love with math and computers. I received my Bachelor's degree from a 4 year math-intensive engineering degree program at Lehigh University, and found myself a job programming at a math-based tutoring company.

When I was in school, I found math to be approachable and, consequently, fun. I am passionate about making math accessible and fun for those that didn't know it was possible! I will tailor tutoring sessions to fit YOUR needs and goals!

What sets me apart is my age. Even at 29, I have a great deal of tutoring experience with a wide range of grade levels. Being younger, I am able to relate better to students, and often am able to connect with them on a personal level to get them to feel more comfortable, and subsequently comprehend more! Having also been in school more recently, I am more in tune with current teaching methods and concepts.

I am enthusiastic and eager to help!

C#

The C# programming language is a widely used class-based object-oriented in the .NET framework which compares favorably to Java. I am well-versed in object-oriented programming, and I work daily in a C# environment.
Computer Programming,

Computer Programming

The computer science field relies heavily on programming, something that is not in the core curriculum of most high schools. As such, many people find it hard to get their foot in the door. Having a degree in computer engineering, which is heavily steeped in programming, I can make this information more accessible!

Logic

Logical mathematics are not in the core curriculum of most high schools, which makes it daunting. Logic based math courses may be considered "logical", but that doesn't make them easy! Having a degree in computer engineering, I have taken multiple classes in logic, including discrete logic, logic and runtime (big O notation), and digital circuits design (logical design and analysis of circuits).

Thank you!

Great lesson to get Eric started on his way to Calculus! Eric was comfortable and is feeling better about the class. Prefers video - and I know that will be addressed for next lesson.

Brian was great with my 6th grader!

Brian was very patient with my son and explained the concepts and gave him work to do which my son did very well! Goes down to the level of the child to explain and make him/her understand. Awesome!!

All around...great!

Brian has been tutoring our daughter in geometry for 5 months now. He is an excellent tutor. Clearly explains all concepts, works problems with her and challenges her to see that she understands. He is very patient and soft spoken. Brian is always on time and stays until she understands that week's work.

Responsive and knowledgeable

Brian responded quickly to my inquiries when searching for a tutor for my daughter. He sat with my daughter until all her questions were answered. He worked with her and even tested her to ensure she understood the subject matter. It has been a pleasure to work with Brian.
