Hi! My name is Vincent and I love to tutor! Great Tutors seek to help others understand and learn various academic subjects. They must be patient and understanding, as well as be able to assist, evaluate, motivate, develop and integrate their students in learning. I promise to use all of the tools at my disposal to guide your child to a greater understanding of the subject at hand.
I will always try to motivate my students and provide them with confidence. Students need to have positive attitudes to feel successful and get work done, so if you only provide them with negative feedback, they may not have a good tutoring experience. I will do my utmost to see to it that your child's tutoring experience is the best it can be.
I will also help my students develop study skills specifically tailored to the students' needs for when there isn't someone around to help them out. It is vital that, besides teaching students what to learn, tutors teach them how to learn. I will strive to provide my students with study skills and good study habits, as well as how to break complex issues down so as not to be overwhelmed.
When selecting a tutor, remember that the mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. English and Reading Comprehension. Vincent talks in a very calm voice when is explaining how to work a problem out.
My son met Vincent for his lesson and felt very comfortable and feels like he will be able to assist him in his SAT reading and writing score. This was our first lesson and he is looking forward to meeting with him next week.
Vincent has been an excellent tutor for my 14 year old daughter. He helps her in all areas including Math, Reading, Writing and critical thinking. He is willing to create his own lessons or work with my daughter on her actual homework, which really helps her. Vincent is very patient and his experience with teaching students with learning disabilities really is obvious. I highly recommend him!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
