Hello! My name is Keara S., and I am a college graduate from Tulane University with a degree in Sociology and Social Policy & Practice with a minor in Psychology. I am also a Peace Corps volunteer who will be deployed in the summer of 2022 to teach English abroad. During my time at college, I taught English as a Second Language to adults, worked as an assistant teacher at an elementary school, and was on the leadership board of multiple student organizations. I am also in the process of writing and publishing my first trilogy.

Ever since I was a little kid, I've loved everything about English and began reading and writing at a very young age. In the 3rd grade, I penned my first short story. Throughout middle school and high school, I had poems and short stories published in the school's art collection newsletter. And when I was in the tenth grade, I won an award for my poem in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Reading and writing are most definitely a passion of mine.

I began teaching when I was twelve years old at the Irish dance school I have danced at since I was 3-4 years of age. I worked as a teaching assistant for a year and then when I was 13 years old, I was given my own class to run, which I taught until August before I left for college in 2016. I have also worked as a babysitter, a camp counselor (where I helped to teach dance and other artistic classes), and a Childwatch Attendant at my local YMCA. I've worked with children and teaching essentially my whole life.

I got top scores on my reading and writing portions of the SAT and ACT, including a 36 out of 36 in writing and a 34 out of 36 in English on the ACT. I won an award for poetry in high school. I recently finished my first novel, part one of my trilogy, and am working on getting it published.

I absolutely love teaching and working with each unique student, so I encourage you to message me if you are interested in having me as your tutor or if you have any questions.

Great Creative Writing tutor

Keara is a wonderful patient tutor with lots of experience in creative writing. She is the author of a trilogy and she shows kindness and patience towards helping my kids in their lessons. She has covered many topics and the kids are always happy to work with her. Definitely hire her as your kids will see a bump in their grades and understanding of the language.

Patient and fun!

Keara met with my third grade son for the first time today and helped him with his school writing homework. My son wasn't in the best mood when the lesson began but Keara made it fun and by the end of the lesson he was very proud of and excited about the writing piece they worked on together. We are going to meet Keara twice a week and I look forward to seeing improvements on his writing overall!
