I have been a tutor and adjunct instructor at several local colleges for 10 years. I teach and tutor in the areas of chemistry, math, and physics. I hold an emergency teaching certification and am a substitute teacher in the Central Bucks School District.
I have taught classes in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry Lab, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and Physics at local colleges. I have a love of learning and desire to understand the world through math and science. I keep up to date with many of the latest scientific discoveries. I earned a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry and have a background in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries were is was involved in the discovery of new therapeutic medicines.
I enjoy helping students understand concepts in math and science. I then apply these concepts in a detailed and stepwise approach to solving specific problems. I enjoy pointing out how current scientific discoveries or currently used technologies apply directly to the material at hand.
I am available from 9 am until 8 pm. I am happy to meet students at one of the Bucks County Public Libraries or at a Starbucks. It is most efficient for students to have specific problems to go over for subject tutoring, along with the textbook being used. SAT and ACT math students should have review book. I have standard texts and can supply problems as well, with advanced notice. I have been a tutor and adjunct instructor at several local colleges for 10 years. My base rate is $35 per hour. For 2 or more hours, my rate is $30 per hour. Two hours is an optimal time in that the student can become engaged in the material and before fatigue sets in.
Jonathan is a life saver. I took an online college math course. I have worked with tutors before and none of them have cared as much as he does. He was always quick to respond and genuinely cared if I did well in the class. He answered all of my questions, and I asked a lot of them. After a question, if I still did not understand he would explain it in a different way until I fully understood. I received an A in my class! I could not have done it without his help and support.
Jonathan was awesome! He didn't waste a minute in assisting me in what I wasn't understanding in Math. He went through each step with me. He advised me on what Professor's look for when solving a problem, show your work. He was patient and kind. Appreciate his time. Thank you. If you are struggling with Math, Jonathan knows what he is doing! He is amazing! I give him 5 stars! Excellent Tutor and teacher. Very helpful.
Had a long 4 & 1/2 hour study session preparing for an exam. Worked with me to help solve problems on practice test. Knowledgeable and interesting to talk to about the science field as well.
Thank you Jonathan I was able to understand the concept from your teachings extremely quickly. I appreciated the great notes and diagrams you made for me to keep. They have certainly helped me to retain the information.
I reached out to Mr. R to help me with my statistics course. We met at a local library and for two solid hours Mr. Rudolph broke down difficult concepts to the basics. I was feeling overwhelmed before but with Mr. R's steady approach and kind demeanor I was able to relax, take a breath, and feel more confident moving forward through what has been for me a very challenging class so far. We've already made plans to meet again because his help is invaluable. I wish he were my teacher not just my tutor. I recommend Mr. R to all students in his fields of expertise. I am sincerely grateful.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
