I enjoy helping students understand concepts in math and science. I then apply these concepts in a detailed and stepwise approach to solving specific problems. I enjoy pointing out how current scientific discoveries or currently used technologies apply directly to the material at hand.
I am available from 9 am until 8 pm. I am happy to meet students at one of the Bucks County Public Libraries or at a Starbucks. It is most efficient for students to have specific problems to go over for subject tutoring, along with the textbook being used. SAT and ACT math students should have review book. I have standard texts and can supply problems as well, with advanced notice. I have been a tutor and adjunct instructor at several local colleges for 10 years. My base rate is $35 per hour. For 2 or more hours, my rate is $30 per hour. Two hours is an optimal time in that the student can become engaged in the material and before fatigue sets in.
I reached out to Mr. R to help me with my statistics course. We met at a local library and for two solid hours Mr. Rudolph broke down difficult concepts to the basics. I was feeling overwhelmed before but with Mr. R's steady approach and kind demeanor I was able to relax, take a breath, and feel more confident moving forward through what has been for me a very challenging class so far. We've already made plans to meet again because his help is invaluable. I wish he were my teacher not just my tutor. I recommend Mr. R to all students in his fields of expertise. I am sincerely grateful.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
