I have been sewing and crafting since I was in 3rd grade. My love for creating with color and texture led me to a BFA in fashion design from Parson's School of Design. I have also supplemented my degree with classes in crochet, basketry, embroidery, soft sculpture. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
