Welcome to my tutoring site. I have been tutoring for 44 years. It started by helping my brother's friends through their high school math courses. I do this because I love math. Here is my story. Just recently (2012), I retired from the public school system after having taught for a total of 19 years. I taught for seven years in the archdiocese of Philadelphia at the middle school level. I have a master's degree in educational leadership and a bachelor's degree in mathematics. Due to my years of experience, I have compiled quite a variety of strategies that make math easier for all students to understand. I truly love tutoring because I watch that light bulb "go on" in my students' heads. Please work with me and together we will make amazing progress.

We had a great year with Nancy and my daughter loves her. Nancy is a kind and patient teacher who was able to get my daughter to understand both geometry and algebra. With Nancy's help my daughter was able to pass her keystone exams in algebra. When we started with Nancy (in September) my daughter had a D in geometry. She has ended the year with a high B, and all of her anxiety from math has disappeared. Nancy would stay longer when my daughter was having difficulty grasping concepts. She even gave my daughter problems to do between session and then would go over the results with her over the phone. I don't know what we would have done this year without her. We will see her again in the fall for Algebra II. If you need a math tutor Nancy is the one to hire.
Tracy, WOW! What a beautiful review! I do appreciate it. But most of the credit must go to your daughter. She is the one who put forth the necessary effort to ensure her own success. And YES, she did it! I love her & am proud of her as should you be!
Nancy is always very professional. My son gets a great deal from their sessions together and as a result, he has improved his math grade this school year!
Nancy is tutoring the 13-year-old son of a friend of mine. She is tutoring him in pre-algebra which, before I met Nancy, I tried to do and it was a complete fiasco. Nancy knows her math, is patient with her student, and is genuinely concerned about his grasp of the often difficult subject matter. My friend, her son and I are overjoyed that Nancy has stepped in and is taking care of business.
Hi Steve, Thanks very much for the beautiful review. It is greatly appreciated. Nancy
Nancy is an awesome tutor. She is helping my two sons throughout the year when they are struggling in geometry. She meets them right where they are at, and guides them to understanding. Patient, caring, and thoughtful in her approach. Knowledgeable and professional. We highly recommend her!
Janine, Thank you very much for that lovely review. Your boys are a pleasure to work with. They also have an awesome mom on their side who acts as their #1 advocate. Keep up the good work.
Nancy has been helping my daughter with Algebra 2. She is very patient and explains the material in a way my daughter understands it. Nancy also is very reliable and easy to reach and communicate with regarding upcoming lessons.
Nancy is providing Praxis math tutoring services for my daughter who is a college student. Nancy evaluated her weaknesses and has taken the extra steps and time to customize my daughter’s Praxis math lessons according to her needs. Not only is Nancy extremely knowledgeable and qualified, she is warm, caring and very patient. My daughter can easily relate to her. She is genuinely interested in my daughter achieving her goals. We had two lessons thus far, and we look forward to continue working with her. We are very happy with Nancy’s math tutoring skills. This is a great start!
Thank you so much for the wonderful testimonial. You should be proud of your daughter and her determination to succeed. Thanks.
Thank you, Nancy, for being kind, patient and super friendly. Thank you for helping my daughter improve her Algebra 1 grade from a D to a B!! Hopefully, Geometry will be easier for her, but if not, we know who to call for help. Thanks!!
Thank you for the referrals. Glad that your daughter is doing so well.

She is also worried about your well being!!! She's great with math which I need help with. She goes very slow so you can catch on and she teaches you very step to learn better. She has been a great part in my life. She is helping me with a GED!!! Awesome teacher, 110% awesome.
Just started tutoring for my son, Nancy P. has a great deal of knowledge but more importantly, the ability to teach it! My 14 year old son was very comfortable with her from the start. She is easy to communicate with, very prompt and very personable. It is obvious that she has a wealth of experience with high school age kids and and interacts with ease. Wonderful!
Hi Mary Kaye,
Thank you for your testimonial. Your son is a gem and you should be very proud of him. I am truly honored to be working with him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Elementary (K-6) education is a field where I do have extensive experience. I have 2 sons who I raised by myself. They both did very well in school. I had my own special requirements for them regarding homework from Sept. through June. Homework was the highest priority. Then in the summer they had to do a page of math problems each day and also they had to read for 30 minutes. I also tutored several students in grades 2 through 8 during the summers. My nephews had trouble with math in grades 3 through 5 so I tutored them in math and especially the times tables. They struggled with those times tables before I began working with them. From 1986 to 1993, I taught grades 7 and 8. This included teaching math, science, language arts, reading, writing. Regarding study skills and strategies I employ a variety of these. Some strategies are pneumonics, flash cards, music/rap, visuals, hands on manipulatives, and software applications. I have a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in education.
I have a master's degree in educational leadership and a bachelor's degree in mathematics. I have taught for 19 years, grades 7 through 12. I have tutored grades 4 through college for many of those 19 years. I took modern algebra in college and scored an A.
I have a M.A. in Educational Leadership, a B.A. in Mathematics, and Secondary Education Certification. I have already tutored 2 students in Math Praxis. All of them have raised their scores to the passing level or higher on the first try after tutoring with me. I also have taught grades 7 & 8 for a total of 7 years and high school for 12 years. Now I am a retired math teacher. I also have tutored SAT & ACT prep and math PASA prep. My PASA student took the math portion 3 times and failed all 3 times. She began tutoring with me & then took the test again. She raised her score by 44 points and was then eligible to get her elementary teaching certification in Pennsylvania. She would be happy to speak to you regarding the quality of my tutoring work.
