About Megan

Hello, I am currently employed at a local middle school in Coatesville. I have been teaching for the past 11 years. I am a 6th grade Learning Support teacher. I am certified to teach Middle School Language Arts, Middle School Science, Middle School Social Studies, and Middle School Mathematics. In my district I have also been a part of the after school tutoring program as well. I have also tutored outside of school for the past 3 years. I feel that students learn best by participating in a variety of hands on, creative lessons, which relate to the real world. I feel that a student needs to understand why they are learning that particular lesson. Students take to a lesson better when they know when they will use it in the real world outside of school. Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I played softball in a league from the age of 7 until the age of 18. I also played in high school. I have also been a middle school coach at my school for the past 9 years.
