Hi, I am a corporate-experienced graphic designer and presentation specialist. Through years of experience working with clients at all levels, I can provide training that gives real-world application. I use the following software programs: Adobe Creative Suite CS5 Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat, Dreamweaver, and Final Cut Pro for video editing. Extensively use Office 2013 PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Familiar with WordPress and Constant Contact. I can help you design elements that can be used for print, presentations, web, social (blogs/web), and video products. You can learn the graphics software that you need now, and also get an understanding of how the other graphics programs tie into each other. You'll learn best practices for creating visuals with regards to file size, web optimization, and content.
Working together, I can tailor your learning experience to best meet your learning objectives. My approach includes hands-on training on either a Mac or PC platform. Beyond teaching basic graphic design, I'll help you refine your ability to create professional graphics, photos, and print materials. You'll learn how to use color, fonts, and layouts that convey a contemporary look to your projects. Your experience will give you the confidence to produce compelling graphic visuals that can give you an edge over others when applying for jobs. And, I promise that you'll have fun learning! I have taught PowerPoint classes in a corporate environment, so I understand how to present learning materials using a light-hearted approach. I enjoy mentoring people that are just starting out, and I will do my best to give you solid knowledge in graphic design.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have video editing experience creating training modules that are used on YouTube and devices. I take images created in Photoshop and Illustrator, and apply them to sound files (music or recorded voice files) to create a video segment.
Working with subject matter experts, I create the content for the video, then I create storyboards to provide an "outline" of how the video will flow. Once approved, the images that illustrate the video (photos, illustrations, title pages) are synced up to the sound files.
After the video has been compiled, it is rendered to create a master file. That file is then used to produce the video into the products needed for delivery (e.g., M4V files for use on mobile devices).
