I am a retired CPA with over a hundred hours of math tutoring experience. I have a very high success rate with assisting students and adults in passing the math section of the GED. My students have included a fourth grader struggling with math, an accident victim who had to drop out of high school, and adults who for various reasons did not complete high school and wanted to improve their job qualification skills. Because I am retired, my time schedule is flexible and my rate is reasonable.
I take an individualized pace with each student. I try to assess their best style of learning, be it visual, analytical, or multi-sensory. I have found that building confidence and having a sense of humor are important parts of creating the proper approach to the math material itself. I am patient and sincerely want my students to succeed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
