Psychology and Music Tutor

I'm Calynn. I graduated from Denison University with a BA in psychology and minor in music. I got inducted into Psi Chi International Honors Society for Psychology and Mortar Board College Senior Honors Society. In both high school and college, I participated in a variety of music ensembles including wind ensemble, concert choir, and trumpet ensemble.

I want to make sure students succeed in their classes and do not fall behind. I have tutored my college friends in psychology and music (music theory and earing training) to make sure they understand the material and do not fall behind in their coursework. I have helped the people I tutored by giving them real world examples or trying to make the material they are learning more personable to them. I want to benefit the students as much as possible.

I am very passionate about learning and sharing my knowledge of psychology. I chose to major in psychology, because I was fascinated to learn about people's behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. I have tutored some of my college friends in psychology and helped them understanding the material by giving them real world examples and making the material more personable to them.

Music has always been a major part of my life. Since I was very young, I have participated in numerous musical ensembles throughout high school and college including River City Youth Brass Band, Cranberry Civic Chorale, Denison University Wind Ensemble, Denison University Concert Choir, and Denison University Trumpet Ensemble. I began playing the trumpet at age 10 and have been playing it ever since (12 years). Since music has played an important role in my life, I decided to minor in it in college. My music minor program gave me a well rounded education and understanding in the field of music from learning about music theory to music history.
