In addition to my degree/certification with Children newborn through grade 6, I also earned concentrations in both reading and mathematics. Through student teaching, volunteering, and work, I have worked with children in a variety of areas and socioeconomic settings. I have also worked with children with minor special needs.
My favorite subjects in school were always math and reading. I enjoy helping children understand math problems in the learning style that fits their needs. Through many volunteer settings I feel I have helped children the most in the math and reading subject areas but I also had the knowledge to help them succeed in any subject.
Through my math concentration in college, I received extra knowledge and practice in teaching pre algebra in ways that children can understand.
Through my reading concentration, I developed extra skills that I feel will help students succeed in all areas of language arts. Through various tools and strategies I can help children learn the best ways to help themselves succeed.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
