I am a college professor and former middle, high school, and alternative education teacher. I was certified in health education, but am nearing completion of my Ph.D. in Human Development. This has prepared me for a career teaching interdisciplinary subjects, such as sociology, education, psychology, and growth and development. I love what I do and I love what I teach!
I also have experience working in a professional tutoring center. In this role I interviewed students, tested Math, ELA, writing levels, and study skills and prepared individual learning plans for each student.
I have extensive training as an educator and teacher and understand that people learn differently. The most effective way to teach the material is to find something that is relevant and personal to the individual. Tutoring and one-to-one education allows me to do this. I understand and acknowledge the demands of learning - language, attention, focus, memory, spatial ordering - and how overwhelming these demands can be. Sometimes students aren't even aware they struggle in these areas!
Stop feeling the frustration of social sciences and writing and let me help you find ways to feel successful! You got this! Hi there!

I am a certified K-12 Health Education in Pennsylvania. Additionally, I am experienced in neurodevelopmental profiling and assisting in helping students understand their strengths and weaknesses as learners.
As an undergraduate student I had coursework in public speaking. Professionally, I've been a teacher and college instructor. In addition to course work and professional day to day work I've also formally presented at professional conferences.
I have a Ph.D. in Human Development, an interdisciplinary field. I have taught courses heavy in sociological ideas, theories, and methods and will be teaching sociology this fall at the undergraduate level. I have a sound understanding of sociological issues and matters.
I've been formally trained in a program called "Schools Attuned." This program examines 8 constructs of learning and provides targeted approaches to learning in these areas. Additionally, I worked for a tutoring agency that focused on content as well as executive functioning skills, including study skills and organization. I have experience developing classroom materials and alternative learning strategies.
