Although I have been a practicing attorney for over 25 years, I have a life long passion for English, reading and sharing my love of books. I have chosen extracurricular activities that support my interest in teaching. I have worked with Literacy Volunteers of America - an organization that helps adults learn how to read and I have taught Sunday school. I have also taken college classes to become a certified elementary education teacher and while I have not finished that endeavor, I hope to someday make a career change and go into teaching.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
