Hi, my name is Linda. I really enjoy working with children to help them improve, and I am very good at it. My goal is to help children be happier in school by helping them to become successful. I have worked with students as a paraprofessional (K-10th grade) in the Butler Area School District for seven years. I aided and monitored the students in the regular classroom, and also worked with the special needs students.
I love kids, and I am very dedicated in my efforts to help them have fun in the tutoring session. Parents, in a very short time you will begin to see your child improve in school, gain confidence, and be happier.
I was also employed by a Corporate Staffing company- I worked as a field interviewer for approximately 4 yrs. assessing and interviewing children (0-17 yrs. old) for The National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-being, and I was also rehired to work on another study involving 4 yr. old children to test the child's pre-readiness to enter school.
I also have certificates in Early Childhood Development from Butler County Community College. Kids, I can't wait to begin helping you learn and have fun at the same time.
Kids, hope to see you soon!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I attended art school for two years at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and was a graphic artist for 20+ yrs following my completion of school (received an associate's degree in specialized technology).
As a paraprofessional in the Butler Area School District for 7 years with students from grades k-10th,I feel qualified to tutor in reading. I sincerely offer praise. positive reinforcement, and encouragement to a child when they are putting forth their best effort, and when I see them making progress.
