I have earned certificates in Algebra, Geometry,
Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry, Calculus, and Astrophysics.

I have years of experience in the PA public school system teaching at Moniteau Jr/Sr High School, New Castle Jr/Sr High School among other public high schools. I have been a professional tutor at Total Learning Centers located in Wexford, PA and Butler County Community College, Cranberry Campus. I worked at Slippery Rock University tutoring undergraduate students in college level science and math classes. I completed a semester long internship tutoring at Slippery Rock Middle School in Slippery Rock, PA. I tutored students in math at New Castle Jr/Sr high school in New Castle, PA and at George Jr. Republic in Grove City, PA.

Once I began running my own tutoring business I worked with clientele located in Wexford, Cranberry Township, Butler, Gibsonia, Mars, Fox Chapel, Coraopolis, Robinson, Moon Township, and Slippery Rock. SAT Reading

I have been tutoring students privately in SAT Reading prep for over 3 years now. I have experience with the New SAT Exam too. A number of my students have reached their goal scores on the new exam with my help. I have each student complete a full diagnostic exam which I use to determine their strengths and weaknesses. This, in addition to their choice of colleges, academic majors, and career goals, I use to craft a very detailed individualized study plan tailored to the specific needs of the client. I prepare the student using the most up to date and reliable study books, digital workbooks, and online resources. I am flexible with scheduling and do what I can to accommodate the needs of the student.

Algebra 1

I have been tutoring students in Algebra I & II for more than 3 years. I've tutored middle school, high school, and college level students as well as students enrolled in online algebra classes. Recently I had two students receive the "most improved in mathematics" award from their local school district. I have also designed an effective standards based curriculum to help students pass the Algebra Keystone exam. Recently, I had a student pass the Keystone Algebra Exams. Prior to working with me they had not obtained a passing score on the exam. I use specialized apps on my IPad which provide online, keystone standards based assessments, to diagnose student weaknesses so that I may design the most effective study plan possible. I, myself, have completed course work in mathematics up through Calculus and earned high A's upon completing my Algebra classes. Lastly, I have a master of education degree with specialization/focus in math and science instruction.

Patient and informative. Goes above and beyond.

Abraham has been tutoring my 7th grade son in Algebra 1 for the last few months. They have met once a week. Abraham always pays attention to the areas that my son finds challenging and provides excellent in-person help as well as links to helpful videos and additional work. My son has become more confident in his work and has felt that he has learned a lot from Abraham. Abraham is very patient and also has a way of teaching that my son really responds to. I strongly recommend Abraham and will continue to use him in the future for tutoring needs.

Great First Appt. with Abraham D.

Great first impression. Thorough evaluation of my son. We could instantly tell Abraham's passion for teaching. Excellent at conveying Algebra concepts. He will be teaching my son the importance of the process and writing out each step as oppose to a quick fix or short cut.

Patient tutor

Good first session. We appreciated the use of technology as a way to extend the learning experience at home. My daughter felt comfortable with Abe and has high hopes that with the continuing sessions math will finally "click" for her. We liked his flexibility in where to meet and his willingness to be able to contact him with questions in between sessions. He suggested some great apps that we can access to assist in completing daily homework. He was very patient and allowed my daughter to go at her own pace while working through her math problems.

Two Thumbs Up

I highly recommend Abraham's tutoring services. My 15 year old had lost confidence in his Math abilities and Abraham has done a nice job refocusing him and providing solid support for both Geometry and Algebra II. He customizes each experience to address the current content being addressed at school and leverages technology as an instrucitonal tool as well as another avenue for delivering instruction/support. Solid preparation and recent test scores have begun to help my son regain his stride in Math.

Great Start on Geometry and Algebra!

Abraham brings a genuine enthusiasm and interest to mathematics in his tutoring sessions. My son is a sophomore in high school and has struggled in math the past two years. After our first introductory session prior to the school year, Abraham had a game plan ready to go. It gave me confidence through his confidence that he could help my son achieve better grades this year. I am optimistically awaiting the outcome of these sessions. I would recommend Abraham to anyone who's kids need a boost of confidence and enthusiasm pertaining to math!

Great explaination of college acceptance

I (student's parent) met with Abraham before the tutoring lesson and he showed me a great graph of the components of college acceptance. Wonderful information from a parent's persepctive. Thanks!

Alex, 7 lessons with Abraham
Tutor responded:

Alex was a pleasure to work with. He is a perfect example of a student who improved significantly because he met with me on a regular basis and completed his homework regularly. I predict he will have great success with his future endeavors.

He was very helpful in setting up a plan & achievable goals.

He explained his process as a tutor & what we should expect from this experience, also answered any questions we had & he was very knowledgeable. In general, seems like a nice guy.

CODY, 5 lessons with Abraham
Tutor responded:

I enjoyed working with Cody. He demonstrated all the qualities of a good student and should have great success in the future.

Great tutor who was able to show an immediate impact!

Although Abe spent a very short time tutoring my 11th grade daughter, he was able to make an immediate impact on her learning. Abe was able to explain things to her in a way that she was able to comprehend, and he gave her plenty of tips and tricks to help foster her ability to remember the information. He also gave her things to work on between tutoring sessions. I only wish that I found him sooner in the year! I would not hesitate to recommend Abe and would be more than comfortable using his services again in the future.

Debbie, 29 lessons with Abraham
Tutor responded:

I only worked with the student for a short time but she did make improvements on her exams. In particular I was able to work with her taking advantage of her visual learning style and response to concept maps.

Very Pleased!

Very pleased with the continued progress made during the recent tutoring session on Algebra II. We are seeing an improved understanding of the subject based on the sessions. Also, Abe has been very easy to work with adjusting his schedule to make sure we are able to meet weekly.

Tutor responded:

I have worked with the student fie quite some time now. During that time he has made great improvements in his mathematics ability. After achieving success in Algebra II and Chemistry he has opted to continue working with me through Trigonometry.
