About Sara

I'm currently on sabbatical from my work as a high school mathematics department chair, while I work on a book. I've been tutoring professionally for almost 10 years and have a masters degree in theoretical mathematics. While I specialize in high school and college mathematics and SAT prep, I have experience teaching many academic subjects at all levels, from middle school to graduate school. I can provide numerous references, both from schools where I've worked and from tutoring clients. Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Calculus

In additional to teaching Calc I, II, Linear Algebra & Differential Equations, at the University of Pittsburgh, I've also spent almost a decade teaching AP Calculus (both AB and BC) in high school, where I also taught Multivariable Calculus, Introduction to Analysis, and Topics in Theoretical Mathematics as part of the Gifted Program I ran.
