As a published author, teacher, wife, and mother of six, I come with a variety of experiences that allow me to help students with many learning needs. My own children range from in ability from the gifted to one who needs learning support, so I understand the pressures that come with all areas of the learning spectrum. I recognize differences in learning styles and I am determined to find the right method for teaching you. Being an eclectic teacher means I come with a variety of tools at my disposal so I can find the right method for you.
As a published author, I have applied my English language skills to move beyond the classroom to the public marketplace. As such, I am able to assist you in developing your own writing and analytical skills in exposition and narrative writing. Whether you are an accomplished writer wanting to hone your skills, or a non-writer who hates to put pen to paper, I am able to offer you specific, proven guidelines and step-by-step instruction to improve your skills.
For those who must prepare for the Keystone Tests, I have instructed students in remediation for those tests. Students should expect more intense reading and analytical practice during lessons in order to ensure success. My goal is to make you more comfortable when faced with the more intensive and extensive reading and writing portions of standardized tests.
If you are committed to your success as much as I am, I invite you to partner with me in improving your skills and abilities. A 24-hour cancellation notice is required so that we insure that commitment. For your convenience, we can meet in your home for your private lesson. A quiet place to learn and practice is vitally important to our time together, so be sure to have a learning place set up just for you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
