I graduated in 2004 from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. I went on to obtain my Master's in education from Kutztown University in 2008. I was employed in 2005 by Fleetwood Area School District as a first grade teacher. I taught from 2005-2011, when I resigned from the profession to stay at home and raise my two children. I absolutely love teaching and would like to tutor to continue working with children to help them to understand the subjects they're learning about in school. It is my desire to work with students who need help getting through their homework, staying organized, preparing for tests, and working through material with which they currently struggle. I would prefer to work with students in grades K-6. I understand how frustrating it must be when your child is struggling in school and I look forward to helping him/her find success!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a first grade teacher for 7 years I taught many students how to read and how to improve their reading. Reading is a passion of mine and it's something I enjoy doing. Helping a child to read is one of my favorite parts of being an educator!
I taught first grade for 7 years. I worked with students on how to prepare for upcoming spelling and science quizzes. I was able to help them stay organized and work ahead as they prepared for tests. I was also to help them review material before taking a test.
