I believe that discovering the joy of learning can be transformative. I have seen my students transformed by the sudden discovery of their voice, their insights, their unique critical perspectives. In my twenty plus years of teaching, my students have earned top scores on the SAT and AP exams, won numerous creative writing awards, and gained admittance to the colleges of their choice. I have taught English at acclaimed independent schools and have been an AP grader for the AP Language and Composition exam. I have helped students with their college essays, reviewed college applications, and served as a college counselor. Over the years, my students have gone on to a variety of colleges and universities, from small liberal arts schools to large research institutions, and many have been accepted to top-tier schools, including every Ivy League school. I enjoy helping students reach their academic goals.
I am happy to assist students to be successful in their English classes, for daily assignments, such as grammar or vocabulary development, or for long-term assignments, such as a research paper or term project. I provide an individually tailored approach for success on ISEE and the SAT Reading and Writing Exams.
I specialize in providing expert feedback on AP English readiness. As a past AP reader and successful AP teacher, I can cut through distracting advice and help students understand the critical elements of writing a successful prompt. I offer practical, personalized, proven guidance for success on the AP English Language or AP English Literature exam.
I would be happy to arrange a consultation meeting to ensure a positive, valuable experience.
I look forward to meeting with you and charting your path to success!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
