Alvernia University (Mathematics)
I have a degree in Mathematics from Alvernia University. I tutored at Northampton Community College from 1999-2015, so I have seen many things in my time. I am one of those people who has been tutoring my entire life; that 'smart' kid who sat next to you, the one who could explain everything to you in a far easier manner, yes, that's me. I love being that person who makes your present area of weakness your new-found strength.
Tutoring is a very personal, very rewarding occupation for me because you get to be one on one with a student, and to me, there's no greater way to positively effect a student than being one-on-one with them, seeing what they see, and getting to a repeatable, understandable solution. I can tutor any and all high school math courses, as well as SAT math prep and statistics in the most understandable manner. If you're struggling, and you want someone to meet you on your level of understanding, then assist you to a far greater level, then I'm your man! Learning a lot with Craig, he goes over material at my pace and always checks on my level of understanding before going further. His knowledge, patience and tutoring style are exactly what I needed.
Craig is awesome ! He is very knowledgeable and very good at explaining concepts. He is encouraging and excellent at communicating. He makes himself available to his students when they are in need of help during the week or weekends !
Craig did a great job of helping me not just understand Algebra but also understand why it makes sense to use it. I previously tried to do anything possible to avoid using algebra even if it meant doing double the work. Craig helped me understand algebra which makes me see how it can be useful. Great tutor!
So far so good, my daughter said she understands more and he teaches well just from one lesson so far.
Understands the students difficulty in grasping problems. Took extra time as needed. Came prepared to the session with a textbook. I have confidence my son will benefit from his instruction.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
