I offer tutoring services in finance, accounting, excel, PowerPoint, GMAT prep, and math.
Teaching others has always been a passion of mine. Whether it be in high school and college when I was a tutor for various levels of math and elementary education; in my former job in hospitality as a trainer; or in an informal setting of helping my peers in my MBA program. I enjoy the satisfaction of helping others learn and succeed, as well as the challenge of adapting to each individual in order to get my points across.
I have a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Business Administration from top schools (UNC undergrad, Indiana University MBA). I completed my MBA program this past spring and graduated with high honors and a GPA of 3.97/4.00. I majored in Finance and took several courses in excel. I have high GMAT test scores and would enjoy helping you achieve these scores as well. Throughout the 2-year program, I spent a lot of time helping my classmates who did not have a strong business and mathematics background with their studies, and led review sessions for first-year students in Finance.
I provide flexible scheduling in the evenings or weekends and tailor my methods to your needs. I look forward to helping you learn and achieve your educational goals and hope to hear from you soon! I offer tutoring services in finance, accounting, excel, PowerPoint, Read more
Amanda knows how to explain finance in a way that is easy to understand. She also knows ways to perform calculations without using a complicated financial calculator. So glad i found her!
Amanda is very prompt and shows up on time. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Accounting and Finance and knows how to relay the information in my material so that I understand it. She always makes sure I understand the last problem we did before moving on to the next. She is very friendly and I find her style of teaching very soothing and encouraging as I am able to be myself and absorb the material at my own pace. She encourages me to speak up if I think she is going too fast or if I don't understand something so that I don't feel overwhelmed as I am learning. She is a whiz with Excel and definitely knows her way around Accounting and Finance problems.
I would definitely recommend her for tutoring if you need help with Accounting and Finance.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an undergraduate degree in Business from UNC - Chapel Hill and have recently completed my MBA at Kelley School of Business - Indiana University. I graduated my MBA program with high honors and a GPA of 3.97/4.00.
I am a recent MBA graduate who studied finance and graduated with honors. I took the GMAT exam and scored a 750, with a near perfect score on the quantitative section. I have experience tutoring mathematics as well as finance, accounting and other quantitative subjects.
As a financial analyst, I use advanced functionality of excel every day for my work. During my MBA, I completed 3 courses in Microsoft Excel - business analytics, spreadsheet modeling, and spreadsheet modeling for finance. I completed these courses and received an A in all three. I have also informally tutored my peers in excel to help them improve.
I have taken both undergraduate and graduate coursework in effective presentation and PowerPoint skills. In my recently completed MBA program, I gave approximately 4 presentations per semester, including presentations for heavily critiqued case competitions. In my job, I prepare PowerPoint slides to summarize my work to be presented to the CEO and CFO on a regular basis.
