I recently graduated Muhlenberg College with a degree in physics with multiple research experiences including working at Brookhaven National Laboratory and the University of Illinois studying nuclear physics and using the Muhlenberg telescope for astronomy research. I also minored in philosophy and was inducted into the national honor societies of both fields of study and graduated with general honors. I've had the opportunity to tutor over 30 individuals in physics, math, philosophy, and religion studies in the past, as well as lead workshops for entire classes taking college physics (for three years).

For math and physics, I focus on practice problems that touch on basic principles, having students come up with their own ideas and then guiding them if they've misunderstood the concept and encouraging them if they're on the right track. I fully believe anyone can be taught these subjects, though I realize there are many who are nervous about tackling them.

For other subjects, I like to have students start by teaching me what they know, and what they still have questions about. I'd hopefully connect with the students' teachers about their expectations, and layout a plan with the student to achieve their goals for the class.

I am happy to travel to my students, but I will charge extra to cover the cost of driving on a case by case basis.

I love being part of the education process, and helping others achieve their goals and their potential!

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I've enabled many students to pass and excel in their algebra classes. I started tutoring algebra in high school and have been doing so since with success. Currently I'm finishing up my certification to teach math full time, and have completed all required math courses with honors.
Physics,

Physics

Physics is one of my favorite subjects! I completed my physics major in 2010, and achieved high honors in that study. I participated in research at Brookhaven National Lab and the University of Illinois, looking for more information on the causes of proton spin. In addition, I was my school's learning assistant for Physics I and II starting my sophomore year and finishing at graduation. I held office hours to help students in those classes with the material, as well as helping with labs, leading workshops for struggling and advanced students, and privately tutoring college and high school students.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I scored in the 99th percentile when I first took the SATs and have helped students improve their scores through private tutoring recently. I believe that both an understanding of the material covered, and the structure of the exam are essential for top scores, and I'm confident I can help with both.

Logic

I was a philosophy minor, and as such practiced constructing logical arguments. Additionally, I took a formal logic class in which the teacher recommended I tutor other students in the class, a discrete mathematical class to study mathematical logic, and I've had some experience with electrical logic constructions used for my physics research and classes.

First lesson

Our daughter is struggling with an online class she was recommended to take to be in advanced math and science for Junior year. The online support staff is anything but a support staff. I found this website, Justine responded. Justine spoke with me, met our daughter immediately. Meg got a 92 on the test. She said Justine was extremely helpful in prepping for the test. Meg is looking forward to her next session. Thank you Justine for helping Meg. We are so grateful.

Knowledgeable and patient

My daughter was really nervous about having someone tutor her. Justine helped her with her Algebra 2 assignment and reviewed with her for her upcoming quiz. She felt very comfortable with Justine and said she would absolutely work with her again if needed.

knowledgeable and patient.

Justine is very planned out and assesses the needs of the student so to maximize on the tutoring time. She provided instant feedback on what happened and what needs to be done through Khan sample test taking. She was on time and my son felt very comfortable and confident with her ability to teach him.

Great Effective Tutor!

Justine was very personable with Shayla and quickly identified the areas that she needed to work on or correct, Justine found other works on websites that Shayla can use to improve her downfalls in Math, We would recommend her to any other Parent needing a Math Tutor, Thanks!

Great Professor

I learned a lot today from professor Justine and she's so knowledgeable professor because she find my level in physics and she teaches me today the displacement for how it works with the distance and time and I will learn next time when I will have the next class with professor Justine and hopefully to reach my goal to study the atomic physics.
